How does propylene glycol increase milk production? How does propylene glycol work in the cow (liver, blood, etc.)?

Propylene glycol is converted to glucose in the liver. This increases glucose availability for lactose synthesis, which regulates milk yield. However, it is usually used to prevent ketosis and improve health. It is drenched at the rate of 500 ml per cow per day.
