How does feeding wheat midds compare nutritionally with feeding soyhulls to growing heifers? Will they make puberty-age heifers bag up like soyhulls do?

Wheat midds and soyhulls are both high fiber by-product feeds with good digestibility (source of energy). In fact, care should be taken with the amount of wheat midds being fed as they are rapidly fermented in the rumen. Wheat midds will be also higher in protein. We recommend price as the deciding factor on which to decide the purchase between one or the other. We are not aware of data indicating that soyhulls cause heifers to bag up.
