What is bovine respiratory disease (BRD) complex?

Bovine respiratory disease complex is a major cause of economic loss in the cattle industry, especially the beef industry. It is caused by a number of bacteria and viruses. These include:
- Mannheimia haemolytica
- Pasteurella multocida
- Haemophilus somnus
- Mycoplasma spp.
- Bovine herpes virus 1 - (BHV-1)
- Bovine parainfluenza type 3 virus - (PI3)
- Bovine viral diarrhea virus - (BVDV)
- Bovine respiratory syncitial virus - (BRSV)
