Children give several clues to show you that they are interested in the books you read with them. You can tell that they are interested when they:
- Follow along with the book as you read.
- Ask questions about the story.
- Point to pictures.
- Guess what happens next.
- Repeat words from the story with you.
- Answer your questions about the story.
- Talk about the story or pictures while you are reading.
- Pretend to read the story using pictures.
- Act out parts of the book.
- Connect things in the book with things in real life.
- Ask for the story again.
