The National Organic Program (NOP) allows the use of manure from conventional farms provided it has not had any prohibited products added to it. Make sure that the manure has not been treated (such as chemicals to reduce fly populations) or that other prohibited products have not been added to the manure prior to its use (such as whey). Sewage sludge or “biosolids” are not allowed.
