Why should I use multiple location data versus local data to select soybean varieties?

Multi-year, multi-site data tests the effect of several environments on crop yield; local data only tests the effect of last year’s environment on yield.

When you select varieties, you want as much good performance data about them as possible. A variety that performs well across multiple environments has a good chance of doing well next year on the farm.
