I lost my checkbook. What do I need to do?

Contact your financial institution immediately and let them know that your checks are lost or stolen. If you aren't sure which checks are missing, they will likely suggest that you close the account and open a new one. This is for your protection as well as the financial institution's. Another option is to stop payment on each check that is unaccounted for. Most financial institutions charge a fee for this service, however, so it may be cheaper to open a new account.
