An investor's mindset means that someone is comfortable with the risks and uncertainty associated with investing. This means that they are willing to accept the risk of loss of principal in exchange for the potential of a high return. Someone with an investor's mindset does not expect investment products, such as stock mutual funds, to perform like bank products, such as certificates of deposit. It is important to have an investor's mindset to be comfortable and successful as an investor.
