Certified financial planner (CFP) is the best known of a variety of certifications in the financial planning field. CFP licensees must possess at least three years of work experience in financial planning or a related field, pass a comprehensive two-day examination, continuously update their financial education knowledge through publications and seminars, and adhere to a code of ethics.
