Cornell University has a Web site that lets the user search for plants suitable for their needs: Herbaceous Perennials. Based on your information, I was able to find 25 plants that meet the criteria of shade and wet sites. Your search should be more specific to you. Also check with Cornell Master Gardeners in your location: County Offices . They may also have other suggestions on how to create rain gardens.
