We planted a North Star cherry tree along with some other trees in May. We have been watering the trees every two to three days. All of the other trees are doing fine, but the cherry leaves have dark brown spots on them and are turning yellow and falling off. What is happening?

From the symptoms you are describing it sounds like cherry leaf spot. The Ohio State University Extension Service has an excellent fact sheet written on this fungal disease. The fungus overwinters on dead leaves on the ground so it is very important to clean up these leaves and not let them lie on the ground over winter.
