I'm a caregiver for an elderly person. It's difficult to move this person every time a voluntary evacuation occurs. How do I really know if we should evacuate?

This question is difficult to answer but certainly an important one. One factor to consider when making your decision is the type of disaster or emergency. Some emergencies allow for time to prepare (such as hurricanes and winter storms), others can come upon you quickly (such as floods, wildfires, and tornadoes).
