Everyone lives in a watershed. Use a map of your locality to identify the major rivers and their tributaries. Most local highway departments have county/city road maps that show all of the significant streams, rivers and lakes. Find the street where you live and the closest stream or river. Follow the stream or river on the map to discover its source or headwaters (where it begins) and its mouth (where it ends). Is it a tributary of a larger stream or river? Identify the water body and determine where the water flows. You may have to get a map of an area larger than your county or city. Once you have followed "your" water to its journey's end, you have yourwatershed address.
