Copper plant is a tropical plant suitable for Zone 11. It does not grow well when temperatures start falling below 50 degrees F and is killed by freezing temperatures. Folks living in northern climates usually treat them as annuals and buy new ones each year to plant in their gardens and planters, just as they do with wax begonias, impatiens, coleus, and others.
You could overwinter your plant indoors; however, copper plants are susceptible to many of the problems associated with indoor plants: mealybugs, white flies and spider mites.
