The California Department of Pesticide Regulation determines which pesticides can be used in the state.
According to its databases, the following products were labeled for use on fire ants in pastures in California as of 2007:
- Esteem Ant Bait (pyriproxyfen)
- Extinguish Professional Fire Ant Bait (methoprene)
Other baits or contact pesticides may be available if the label directions permit their use in California pastures.
