How is stocking rate affected by early weaning? I am assuming that you can run more cows, but are there any data that can tell me approximately what that increase in stocking rate may be? We would like to wean calves at 60 to 120 days.

No concrete data; however, the NRC would indicate that the intake difference between a lactating and non-lactating cow is between 4.6 and 5.9 lb of dry matter per day. We have data that would indicate that a March-born calf will eat about 5 lb of grass per day in July, August, and September. This information would suggest that for each 2.5 days that the calf is weaned, there should be about one more day of grazing for the cow.
