As you are aware, feeding Melengesterol Acetate (MGA) improves feed efficiency, usually by an increase in feedlot gain for heifers. It acts as an estrus suppressant and helps reduce riding. The data appear to be quite clear that MGA pays for itself on average.
The last thing related to MGA is you may see improved carcass quality, and probably less dark cutters or other abnormalities. The improvement in quality appears to interact with implant strategies that we use for heifers.
