Can oats be fed instead of corn in the ration for growing replacement heifers? If I normally feed 3 pounds of corn along with alfalfa and/or brome pasture, how many pounds of oats would supply the same amount of energy as the 3 pounds of corn?

You can feed oats instead of corn to replacement heifers. Usually oats are more expensive than corn, and that is why you don't see them used a lot in heifer diets. Oats are lower in energy compared to the corn. The TDN content of corn is 90%, and the energy content of oats is about 75%, so oats have about 83% of the energy content of corn. You will need to feed about 4 (3.6 pounds, to be exact) pounds of oats to get the same amount of energy into the ration as 3 pounds of corn.
