Your question is a frequent one. To put it simply, zoysia is not the ideal low-maintenance grass in Minnesota. Zoysia is a warm-season grass and does not perform in our cool temperatures. It survives Minnesota winters, but turns brown at first frost and is very slow to green up in the spring.
