People deal with bad news differently. Some individuals withdraw from those close to them while others may need time to process the news themselves before talking about it. They might not know what to say or how to communicate their feelings.
Some believe if they talk about the diagnosis that they are accepting the fact that they are sick. They may not want to think about being dependent on family members or friends.
Give your husband space and look for ways to support him. He may need time to think about his future life and the fact that he will be dying.
