International mutual funds invest only in the securities of foreign companies. They hold no stocks or bonds issued by American firms. Some international funds invest in the securities of companies worldwide, while others invest in a specific region of the world such as Asia, Europe, or Latin America. Global funds, on the other hand, invest in the securities of both U.S. and foreign countries.
