Possibly. Using your personal GPS unit may help you build a case for using GPS technology at your workplace! But keep in mind how accurate the locations you collect need to be for your work. Create a plan that will help you keep track of what data on your GPS unit are work-related. Be sure to download your work data from your GPS unit frequently in case the unit is lost or broken on a weekend trip. You may find you will want the features of a more expensive GPS unit (e.g., higher accuracy, ability to collect attributes, differential corrections) after you gain experience collecting GPS data in the field with your personal GPS unit.
