If you receive potted, forced, spring-flowering bulbs, like daffodils and tulips, as winter gifts, you may be tempted to plant them in the garden in spring. However, it often takes two to three years for bulbs to re-bloom after they have been "forced" for indoor use. Before starting, consider whether it's worth the effort. For more information on planting bulbs outdoors in the spring after they have been forced indoors in the winter please see the PlantTalk script #1333, Saving forced bulbs.
