Leadwort, also know as plumbago (Ceratostigma plumbaginoides) begins to flower in late August. The cobalt blue flowers are quite showy and as the weeks pass into autumn, the foliage becomes reddish and bronzy in tone. Leadwort is very adaptable and will grow in the sun, as well as shade. For end of season interest it is unbeatable. For more information, please see the PlantTalk script "Leadwort."
