What would be good companion plant for oriental poppies?

Gardens & Landscapes June 24, 2010 Print Friendly and PDF
The foliage of an oriental poppy dies back during the heat of the summer, leaving a gap in the border, so companion plants are essential. Two good choices are baby’s breath (Gypsophila) and whirling butterflies (Gaura lindheimeri). Both of these plants grow full and will camoflouge the open gap without compromising the dormant crown and roots of the oriental poppy.
