I'm looking for websites allowing user to specify plant and site characteristics and then get a list of applicable plants. For example, a site which is Front Range, basic clay soil, dry, shade, flowering (red)perennials up to 4 ft. tall, etc. Such a site should be oriented to Colorado conditions, or at least be responsive to CO conditions.

I recommend a visit to the Colorado State University Cooperative Extension website for a comprehensive list of fact sheets relative to landscaping in Colorado. Go to http://www.ext.colostate.edu/. Click on Horticulture, then click on Fact Sheets. Scroll down for all the horticultural information you could imagine, and then some.**
