Are Katusura trees suitable to grow in Colorado Springs?

Last Updated: October 28, 2008

The Katusura tree (Cercidiphyllum japonicium) will grow in zone 4-8 so your climate in Colorado Springs would support the tree. A problem could occur because the tree needs moist soils. That could be a challenge. Our low humidity could also create some problems with the tree. With the proper microclimate and proper care of the tree, however, you could sustain a plant in Colorado Springs but you must be willing to provide some TLC (tree loving care).
