Japanese Cherry can be grown in Colorado Springs, but they can be a challenge. The plant's hardiness Zones are 5 and 6. Your local Extension office can recommend some cherry trees that might work in your area. The Canada red cherry (Prunus virginiana) tree is hardy and can thrive in Colorado's climate.
