Why are my yarrow stems lying down but still flowering?

Last Updated: May 16, 2008

Some cultivars of yarrow naturally get top heavy and lie down. New flowers will grow upward from the horizontal stems due to phototropism. In most cases yarrows lie down due to being watered too often. Be sure your plants are receiving at least six hours of direct sunlight.

If all else fails, use plants stakes to support the bloom stalks.
