Can Amaryllis bulbs be divided?

You cannot divide them in the traditional sense. That is, you cannot cut them apart. However, Amaryllis bulbs will eventually form another bulb off to one side. Leave that side bulb attached to the mother bulb for several seasons until it becomes good size. At that point you can turn your bulb(s) out of the pot and with a gentle twist, the new bulb will come free. Plant both bulbs and start over. Understanding Amaryllis has the information you need to keep your amaryllis healthy.
