The University of Minnesota has two publications that should be helpful for you. Ground Covers for Rough Sites has an extensive list of ground covers and shrubs along with the description of preferred growing conditions. Ground Covers also has lists and links within the article to other sites. Please remember that whatever ground cover you select will need to be watered until well established.
