Eating an apple or drinking 100% apple juice provides nearly the same nutrients for your child. Both are less than 100 calories per serving, low in fat and sodium, and high in vitamin C. The difference is that eating an apple provides fiber which can be helpful in preventing heart disease, diabetes, and some types of cancers. The other issue to be aware of is the amount of juice that is consumed. While eating an apple may make you feel full, drinking just 3/4 cup of 100% apple juice (1 serving) may not.
