Preschool-aged children should engage in physical activity for at least 60 minutes to several hours each day. It should not be all at once but can be in 15 minute blocks of time. Make sure that children are spending active time playing outside and inside to get the activity they need. Parents should set a good example by being physically active themselves and joining their children in activities. Additionally, parents and caregivers are encouraged to limit inactive forms of play such as watching television and playing video games.
