The vegan diet is the most restrictive of the vegetarian diets. Vegans
consume no animal products whatsoever. No dairy products, eggs, or, of
course, meat. There are several nutrients that are of special concern for vegans. Calcium, vitamin B12, and iron are the nutrients that are most difficult to get in adequate amounts in a vegan diet. To be healthy, a vegan diet needs to be carefully planned and a supplement may be needed to get all the nutrients you need. You may want to consider consulting a health care professional to help you plan your diet.
