Since 1983, the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) has been promoting the practice of fee-only financial planning which does not involve the sale of financial products. Fee-only compensation indicates that an advisor does not accept commissions or compensation of any kind related to the products that he or she recommends. To find a list of fee-only financial planners/advisors, go to NAPFA's Web site at www.napfa.org/about/index.asp. We would like your feedback on this Personal Finance Frequently Asked Question.
