We are paid every two weeks so the date (e.g., the 5th of the month) that we get paid on is not the same. What is the best due date for bills when your payday is not the same each month?

It is probably a good idea to try to "split" your bills so that approximately equal dollar amounts of them come due in the first 15 days of the month and the last 15 days of the month. This should provide you with the flexibility that you need to pay bills on a biweekly pay schedule. If necessary, contact several of your creditors and ask them to adjust your due date. Most creditors will do this upon request. Note that you will have two months during each year with an "extra" paycheck. In other words, the calendar will fall in such a way that there are three paychecks received during two months of each year instead of two paychecks. It is a good idea to mark all your paydays on a calendar and identify those two months with "extra" paychecks in advance. Use these months as an opportunity to increase savings and/or reduce debt.
