Does a stallion in a barn (there are four stallions at my barn) influence a dominant gelding's behavior?

That is such a difficult question to answer precisely. The general answer is, of course, the other horses in the barn will most certainly influence the gelding's behavior since horses are herd animals and are motivated primarily by herd dynamics. The fact that they are stallions will influence the gelding's behavior differently than if they were another sex, but the difficult-to-predict final behaviors will be the result of complex interacting factors. Much of the gelding's behaviors will be the result of various motivations. You might find this article on ths subject interesting. It is written by the well-known behaviorist, Dr. Temple Grandin, of Colorado State University.
