Under the NOP, USDA provides oversight to accredited certifying agents. Certifying agents provide oversight to producers and handlers. Section 205.501(a)(8) requires that certifying agents provide sufficient information to persons seeking certification to enable them to comply with OFPA and NOP regulation. Questions regarding the certification process and the meaning of the regulation should be directed to accredited certification agencies.
