Am I allowed to vaccinate livestock against diseases and still qualify as certified organic?

Yes, the National Organic Program regulation, in 205.238(a)(6), allows the use of vaccines for the production of certified organic livestock. Records should be maintained of exactly what vaccines are administered to which animals. Vaccines must not be from genetically engineered sources unless these are specifically added to the National List. (No genetically engineered vaccines currently appear on the National List.)
