Value-added marketing for goat and sheep products is the process of modifying a product through "cooking, combining, churning, culturing, grinding, hulling, extracting, drying, smoking, labeling, and packaging" (Richards et al., 1996). Typically, a producer can charge extra for his products because he is adding value to them. Examples of value-added products are ground lamb and goat sausages. Some options of direct marketing available to goat and sheep producers include value-added marketing, community supported agriculture (CSA), Internet marketing, and niche marketing.
