If head lice are discovered on someone at school, should the school facilities and buses be sprayed with insecticide?

No! Head lice are unable to survive away from a human host for more than about 48 hours (they cannot live in rugs, carpets, classrooms, or school buses). Spraying classrooms and school buses for head lice is ineffective and unnecessary.
