Root-knot nematodes, Fusarium wilt, Colletotrichum leaf spot, and Corynespora leaf spot are some of the common diseases. No chemical fungicides are registered for use on herbs. The Cooperative Extension Service in Oahu County has begun a project to develop sweet and Thai basil varieties resistant to Fusarium wilt.
