Is there anything I can do to save on water heating cost?

Yes. Here are five easy tips to save on water heating costs:

1. Once a year flush about one gallon of the water heater tank to remove sediment.

2. Install low flow showerhead(s) to reduce water usage.

3. Turn down the water temperature - generally 120 degrees is adequate.

4. Use cold water detergents for washing clothes, and wash only full loads of laundry.

5. Insulate water heater tanks and pipes if they are located in unheated areas (e.g. crawlspace).
