When weatherizing a home why would you do a before and after blower door test to check for air leaks?

You should do a blower door test after home weatherization work has been completed to ensure that any air leaks have been stopped, and the house is not too tight. The blower door test will judge the effectiveness of any air sealing job. For supporting information and a diagram of a blower door, see the U.S. Department of Energy Energy Savers web site.
