How will wildfire threaten my home?

The predominant wildfire threat to your home will be from wind-blown embers (also called firebrands). These embers may ignite flammable vegetation near your home, debris on or around your home, or combustible materials outside your home, such as patio furniture and wood piles. Burning embers can enter your attic through vents, or into your home through an open window. If the wildfire can come close to your home, radiant heat and flame contact will also threaten your house.
