I'm thinking about adding attic insulation to save energy in the winter. Will it also help keep us cooler in the summer? How does that work?

Insulation resists the transfer of heat through it in either direction. In cooler seasons it helps keep heat in a building, and during the warmer seasons it keeps the heat out of the home. Attic insulation will help save energy in both cold and warm seasons.
