Move firewood or any other accumulations of wood or lumber at least 30 feet away from the house. Rake and remove dead leaves, needles, and other debris from the roof, gutters, and the top and underside of the deck, and at least 30 feet from the house. Mow and remove dried grass and flowers. Remove dead shrubs, trees, and branches, and any wood, bark, and rubber mulches from areas immediately adjacent to the house, deck, and wooden fences.
