What are predators?

Predators are living organisms which capture, feed, or kill another organism (prey) and require several prey organisms to develop and survive. The process is called predation. Examples are lady beetles (predator) feeding on aphids (prey), spiders (predator) capturing moths (prey) in webs, and owls (predator) killing and feeding on mice (prey).
