pH is a measure of how acidic or basic a material is. For example, a pH of seven is neutral; pH values less than seven are acidic; values greater than seven are basic. Highly acidic (pH of 0-3) or highly basic (pH of 10-14) liquids can be very caustic and dangerous to handle.
