Caulk is a material used for filling small gaps (less than 1/4" or 6mm) where little or no movement is expected of the surfaces to which it is applied. There are hundreds of different types of caulk, but the types of caulk most used in home repair include acrylic latex caulk, butyl rubber caulk, and silicon caulk.
